This year, a total of 6 teams made it into the top 100 where they pitch their story ideas to the judges. Among these 6 teams, 4 teams moved on to the top 40s and 1 team made it through to the Top 10!

Evergreen Secondary in the 20th World Orchid Conference 2011
On the 13th November 2011, 168 pupils performed at the 40th World Orchid Conference Gala Dinner held at the Gardens by the Bay. One student artist, Jarin Lee from 3 Thinking and one teacher artist, Miss Nurfarha painted in front of distinguished guests. Pupils from the Chinese Dance, Symphonic Band, Malay Dance, Chinese Orchestra and Gamelan Ensemble performed for dignitaries and VIPs, including our President Dr Tony Tan.
The World Orchid Conference (WOC) is the largest and most significant event on the world orchid calendar. At the WOC, 130 orchid experts conducted lectures, workshops and seminars. Our Evergreen students were involved in welcoming the international dignitaries and VIPs at the gala dinner.
Evergreen Secondary School wins the Team Challenge Cup in 2011 Story Challenge Tournament!
Storytelling is Evergreen Secondary’s flagship programme for developing students’ communication skills and language proficiency. On Saturday 12 March 2011, our students made it to the finals of the nation-wide storytelling competition, Story Challenge, and won the Team Championship and the Individual 1st Runner Up Trophy in the Secondary (English) Category.
Trinity Guildhall Oral Communicaton Group Examination
As part of the English Language Department’s effort to develop effective communicators, 116 students sat for the Trinity Guildhall Oral Communication Group Examinations, Grade 5 on the 18th and 19th August 2011. Our pupils performed exceptionally well with 68 distinctions and 48 merits.
